Wolfson Bolton Kochis is proud to share that founding member Peter Bolton authored the article, “Back to the Future – Reviving Customer Groups in Automotive Supplier Workouts”, featured on the cover of the November 2025 issue of the Journal of Corporate Renewal (JCR), the flagship publication of the Turnaround Management Association.

In his article, Pete examines the growing fragility of today’s automotive supply chains and makes a compelling case for reviving customer groups—collaborative coalitions of OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, lenders, and other stakeholders designed to manage supplier distress. Once a staple of the industry, these groups have largely disappeared but remain one of the most effective tools for stabilizing suppliers, maintaining production continuity, and preserving long-term relationships.
Pete outlines the key advantages of customer groups, including risk mitigation, shared financial responsibility, collective bargaining power, and improved transparency. He also explores the reasons behind their decline and why global volatility makes their revival more critical than ever.
